Typing Club

Today and yesterday I did Typing Club. It's actually called edclub, I don't know why. On Typing Club, (edclub) I learned the Home Row. Do you know why those bumps are on the J and F? They are what I call "The Knights Of The Home Row." Why I call them that is because they are the start (end) of The Home Row concluding keys ASDF;KJL, and they kind of guard The Home Row.

  2. Hi Violet, The Knights (great name for them by the way) are there to give your pointer fingers a guide to where they should return to while you are typing without looking. Back in the dark ages, when I was at school, we used to have Typing class. The teacher would sit up high on an elevated desk at the front of the room and they would gaze around the class to make sure noone was looking at their keys. We had to do a row of letters, similar to what you have on your screen (frf frf frf) and then we would run to the teacher with our sheet of paper. If you had made a mistake, she's mark it and you'd have to go back and do it again. If you got it right, she'd give you another line to do. You can imagine how much I appreciate having a delete or backspace button now!

  3. Hi Violet, I never really typed anything, ever. So I found it interesting that there is an entire system. Inclusive of names for groups and or lines I am guessing. I hope you have found this an enjoyable activity?I feel it will benefit you greatly for life.Hey, why don't you blog your idea's/ and experiences about lockdown. I am sure that your classmates would love to hear what else you have been up to, to fill in your days through/during lockdown. Stay awesome and be kind.
